FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When should I book? Is it too late?

It is never too late! Customers can book from up to 18 months to virtually last minute. We have been catering for over 15 years and we have learnt to expect the unexpected! However, bookings can be limited especially during peak periods, so once you have decided that the function is definitely going ahead and we are your chosen caterers, we strongly recommend calling us and booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment. We don’t need final details until 7 to 10 days out from the big day. We ask for a 10% deposit to secure your booking. This is fully refundable up to 10 days prior to your function should anything change.

Should I go with canapes, buffet or full table service?

Good question! When planning a party, the food must coincide with the venue it is being held in. If you don’t have the space for your guests to sit down at a table, then you should opt for canapes. If you want your guests to be more spoilt, then a buffet or a sit-down dinner will be preferable. Of course, there are different price factors with any of these arrangements.

When do I confirm function details?

In order to secure your date, you will need to place a 10% deposit. Generally speaking we do ask our customers to ring and confirm their details 7 – 10 days prior to their big day. 
Questions we will ask you will include what your menu selections are, the number of guests (including children), what time you want the menu served, what staff you will require and what other special requests/hiring you may need.  

What happens if the function is cancelled?

Your 10% deposit is fully refundable up to 10 days prior to your function. Once you have confirmed your function with us (10 days prior) the invoice is fully payable. Numbers can go up at any time after confirmation but cannot go down once the invoice has been created. If for any reason the function is cancelled inside that 10 day period, the invoice is fully payable. (We can deliver the food to any place of your choice)

How many staff will I need?

Our prices include all the kitchen staff required to service your particular function. If you would like to hire floor staff, we recommend 1 Staff Member between 50 guests (cocktail parties) and per 20 guests (sit down dinners) as a minimum. The higher the number of staff the higher the level of service. Wedding’s and formal occasions do require more staff than a standard Birthday party. Ask us to advise you on your particular function.

Where do you cater?

Almost anywhere!

We find ourselves in all sorts of environments. We can cater on boats, islands, building construction sites, parks and gardens, beaches, homes and community halls, backyards, under marquees, garages, hospitals and nursing homes, churches, offices and sporting grounds to name a few!

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

We certainly do. We have a variety of tasty and delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options that can be built into your catering package on request.

Our guests are big eaters, will there be enough food?

Don’t worry, there will be enough food GUARANTEED, unless a small country turns up unannounced!

Can we change menu items? Can you help us hire tables and chairs? Can you help us with beverages? Can we have canapes on arrival followed by the buffet?

Yes to all of the above. With experience in catering for over 500 functions, we are happy to discuss anything you might require for your special occasion.

What is included in your prices? What extra costs do we have to pay for?

Everything that is required for the food side of things. Platters, serving cutlery and chefs! (Canape menu includes a chef after $25.00 per person) You are responsible for your cutlery, crockery, linen, tables and chairs. We have contacts with party hire companies and can help to get you the best possible deal available.

We can also provide you with floor or kitchen staff ($25.00 per hour M-F, $30.00 per hour Sat, $40.00 per hour, Sun and Public Holidays)

How much for children?

Children under 5 pay nothing.  Children aged 5-10 pay half price.

How do I pay?

Most methods accepted including cheque, cash, internet transfer, credit card (1% fee) over the phone. We do require payment at least 24 hours before your function unless by prior arrangement.
